Aamir loves the press now!
Aamir may have work that keeps bringign him back to Delhi but a little capital bird tells me that the the reason may also have something to do with newsperson Barkha Dutt.
Many months ago, Aamir accompanied by a television news crew including Barkha, had spent a couple of days in the Kargil region bonding with our jawans and obviously, each other. Aamir had played chess, cricket, cards and pranks on our soldiers. He also sang for them, danced with them, answered their personal questions, shared their mess food and almost got one of them married off to Barkha himself.
NDTV too was so thrilled with Barkha's new friendhip, they even showed clips of Aamir speeding along on a bike with Barkha clinging on like a barnacle to an old ship's hull. Ask Barkha if there is something cooking between her and Aamir and she'll get all offensive. But darlings, I find the whole thing supremely funny. Clearly Aamir is making up for all those years of avoiding the Press!
Well whatever. If Aamir has set his sights on Barkha he won't give up easily. When he takes the plunge, he goes the whole hog. Look at what he did when Sahara pulled out of The Rising after Aishwarya Rai was dropped. He managed to market the film to IDBI and has roped them in as financiers.
And guess what darlings, if the money from IDBI is insufficient, Aamir plans to reach into his plans to reach into his own pockets to make sure the film is made.
