Preity Zinta - Once bitten, twice shy!
Stardom doesn't come cheap. It's dear, in that it extracts a price, of your privacy. And when you become a star, you have thousands of fans out there who want to shake hands with you, click snaps et alwith you.
Thankfully, fans of Bollywood stars are not as obsessive as those of Hollywood citizens, which is why you don't hear of anyone stalking our film is here. Though there may be stray examples of fans here where they act in a strange manner, fesulting in the star taking necessary precautions to keep safe distance from such 'fan'atics. Ask the effervescent Preity Zinta.
When this incident occured, Preity was shooting for a film and she was required to wear a bridal outfit. So there was Preity in all the birdal finery, zardozi, jewellery etc. And in between shots, she gladly clicked individual photos with some fans.
After a couple of days, she was shaken up by reports of her marriage to an anonymous guy. Gathering more information, Preity checked out the newspapers and was shocked to see a snap of hers in all bridal finery with a guy.
Apparently, the guy had sent the snaps to the publication and said that he had married Preity Zinta, and even submitted the photograph as evidence. Though it took Preity just a couple of clarification calls to salvage the damage, the incident did make her a little more cautious in dealing with her fans.
So now, if she's wearing a bridal outfit for any scene, she makes sure not to click any snaps with her fans. Once bitten, twice shy as they say.
