A mature love story!
Debutant director Shashi Ranjan is getting ready for the launch of his film, Dobara which he calls a 'mature love story between mature people'. Apparently, he initially wanted to cast John Abraham, but opted for Jackie Shroff instead, since the story demanded a mature actor in his 40s. The film also has a friendly neighbourhood star in it - Muammar Rana from pakistan . "It's a special appearance," explains Ranjan.
"I had approached Sanjay Dutt for the role, but in the end he
could not commit dates for the shooting. Initially, I didn't want to cast pakistani actor, since I find their acting too loud and their films too melodramatic. But when I met Rana during the Indo-Pak cricket match, he came across as a very sober guy. I saw some of his films and immediately signed him up for my movie." Now with so much maturity in the film does it merit an old is gold tag?
