Gauri borrows from the beggars!
Gauri Karnik plays a beggar called Chamki in her forthcoming film Prarambh- The Beginning. "The film is about freeing oneself from unproductiveness. And a beggar's life is the prerfect example, explains Gauri. Also, in order to get into the skin of the character; Gauri borrowed clothes from hutment dwellers with a promise that she would dry-clean and return them. "Ya, that's true. The women have a certain kind of look and fit that can't be obtained through fresh petticoats," says she.
So don't be surprised if you see the gori chhori at a laundry convincing them to clean some really dirty clothes.
