Post 'Main Hoon Na' how has life been looking for Zayed Khan?
It has been just great. everybody just loved the film and they appreciated me too. Like I've always said, it is up to us todo our best and leave to you guys to write about it and hope that most of them are positive. I'm on cloud nine that the film is a success.
So has the film's success translated into more films?
I have 'Dus', 'Shabd' with Ash and Sunjay Dutt and 'Vaada' coming up. 'Shabd and 'Vaada' willl certainly make you sit at the edge of your seat while 'Dus' with Sunjay is a kick ass action film, the kind that will do Hindi cinema proud. We really conceived this action as inconceivable.
Are you looking for an action image per se?
To be honest I've looked at action. I am in tune with my martial acts. I am looking forward to really enjoying myself in that genre on screen. You know action films are the films I love, so it is an added bonus when you are a part of them.
Incidentally, 'Shabd' is with a new director. Do you trust yourself with an amateur now that you are reasonably established?
Leena Yadav, the director of 'Shabd' is an intelligent person. I agreed to do her film right away. The film has a thriller element, hardly seen in Indian cinema. She has cleverly used a mainstream star cast to make an offbeat subject viable. She is one of the directors to approach me before the release of 'Main Hoon Na' and when I heard the subject I didn't even have to say I would have to think about it.
Are you concentrating on two-hero projects?
Not really. I am looking for solo hero projects. But I need to check the merits of the films too. And the viability of the project too. I'm essentially looking for action films. There have been a lot of scripts coming my way. But between narration and implementation, a lot of things change.
