In Bollywood, Old Is Gold, Literally!
It' Strange but true. The lead pair of Baghban earns more than their respective children, also actors in their own right. While the Big B upped his price from Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 3 crore after the success of Baghban, son Abhishek manages to get about a third of that amount. Similarly, Hema Malini is in greater demand than her daughter Esha.
While Hema was paid about a quarter of a crore for her role in thr Ravi Chopra flick, Esha doesn't command that much, especially in top banner films. She's reportedly signed a leading producer's film for less than half the sum her mother was paid in Baghban.
Of course, when Esha made the scene three years ago, she was charging a fatter fee but then those were the good ol' days when she was a fresh face. Now, it's only the success of her starrer that can change the scenario.
