Time to tango with Tanisha
Tanisha, better known in the industry as Kajol's little sis, always wanted to become an actress. Last year she made her debut opposite Dino Morea in Sss.. hhh Koi Hai but the film failed to set the cash registers ringing.
She also met with a near-fatal accident during the shooting of the film, which kept her out of the scene for a while. But now she's back with her next film Pop corn Khao! Mast Ho Jao! and is very optimistic about it. The petite actress has also lost her baby fat and will be seen in a new look.
What went wrong with Sss...hhh?
It's tough to understand what actually went wrong with the film. I think you'll have to ask audiences why they did not like it. As an actor, I really enjoyed working on it and I thought my performance and that of my co-stars was very good.
Your next film is Pop Corn Khao! Mast Ho Jao! What's your role?
I play the role of Tanya, who grows up to become a sculptor. She has two other friends who are her lifeline-Goldie and Rahul. The film shows me as a tomboy in the first half. The second half will see my transfromation into a lady.
Tell us about your two different looks in the film..
It wasn't a conscious decision. The script called for it so I went ahead. In any case, I think that it's good to be able to don two avatars in one film!
How do you feel about exposing your body, since so many actresses do it nowadays?
If I believe in a concept and if I feel that the skin show is part of the script, then I would have no qualms in doing it. Also it would have to be done very aesthetically.
Are you closer to your sister or mother?
It's tough to differentiate really, since I'm close to both of them in different ways. I usually am quite independent but sometimes I do take advice from both of them. I am really lucky to have the two of them. I know they're there for me whenever I need them.
What are your current films?
My next release Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao! is directed by Kabir and produced by Pritish Nandy Communications. It will release by the first week of September. My second release after that will be Tango Charlie with Bobby Deol and my brother-in-law Ajay Devgan. That will hopefully be released by November this year.
