Nagma's new Bengali obsession
After her much-hyped link up with our captain, Saurav Ganguly, Nagma is back in the news in the Kolkata dailies. This time for another 'Bengali attraction'. But this once, instead of a swashbuckling, dynamic cricketer, is the lure of 'artistic cinema' that's hooked the ex-southern superstar turned aspiring politico. Nagma is currently shooting a Bengali film with actor Sharad Kapoor at Agarpada, on the outskirts of Kolkata. And she tells us that the cinema of the East always interested her as it is the land of Tagore, Ray and all the great Ghosh's and Sen's. "I always wanted to do a Bengali film," she told us. "This one's called Parinam and is directed by Tanmay Mukherjee (ex assistant to Tarun Majumdar) and I liked the story idea very much. And Bengal is after all the origin of the seat of Indian art. I'm very excited."
