Bollywood in Manhattan
The popularity of Indian cinema can be seen from the numerous Hindi film festivals being held all across the world. The latest is a three-day Bollywood film festival being held in Manhattan, where Indian classics and popular films will be screened on a gigantic IMAX screen at the Loews Lincoln Square theatre. Landmark films in Indian cinema such as Sholay, Mother India, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Mughal-e-Azam, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Aamir Khan's Lagaan will be shown. The organisers of the event claim that the movies have been chosen because they truly depict all the human emotions love, passion, revenge, humour, courage and determination. Now that's what we call the essence of Indian cinema in a nutshell!
