Karate expert!
Pretty girl Sandhya Mridul made a mark with her cop role in Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II. And the lady is so enthused by the positive feedback from critics that she's now not only doing films, but also taking up theatre. She's going to be part of a play titled Zenkatha, directed by Lillette Dubey. Sandhya plays a princess who disguises herself as a Buddhist monk in order to be with her lover.
The role also requires her to have a working knowledge of martial arts and the actress actually spent six months learning karate from a Sensei master in Mumbai. The story goes that she was so enthu-practising her new found hobby that she almost broke the finger of her teacher in an enthusiastic chop! Last heard, the master is recuperating but with a smug smile on his face after all, his pupil learned too well, and that's a compliment to the teacher!
