Rani is the new queen
With performances in Europe and the US with Shah Rukh Khan, a stopover in New York to finalise a film with Mira Nair, Rani Mukherkee's career is truly on the upswing. Want proof? She has stopped talking to the press. "I'd rather let my work speak for me instead of crowing over how Hum Tum is a hit, blah blah," she told IANS. In Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black, she has given a performance that will be the envy of every leading lady in tinseltown. Her Black co-star Amitabh Bachchan is impressed beyond words. "It's her film, and she's phenomenal," he says. The two will come together again in Ravi Chopra's Babul where she plays Bachchan's widowed daughter-in-law.
