Chunnilal in Bengal dobara
Jackie Shroff has always had a sack full of films to carry around, but his last impressive role was definitely that of Chunnilal in Devdas. And now, after a long time, we'll be seeing Jaggu dada romancing two gorgeous women in Dobara. But at this stage in his career, Jackie doesn't want to repeat the same cliched stuff... dobara. He's now striving for more challenging roles, like in Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film, for which he's currently shooting in Kolkata. Talking to us from the City of Joy, he says, "It's been such an experience working in a Bengali film, that I feel I am discovering things about myself I wasn't aware of." And how comfortable is he with the Bengali language? "Khub bhalo," he says, getting his Bengali twang in place. It's time for Jaggu dada to go Bong-Bong (as long as his guns still 'BOOM' that is)!
