Much song and dance
Hindi cinema has been changed, in some way, as there was a time when our films were being based on classical dance like Kalpana, Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje, Chandralekha, Guide, Amrapali and Abhinetri. Thereafter, the disco culture took over Hindi cinema in the 1980s. Indian classical dance has over the decades gone from Kalpana to Choli ke peeche kya hai where Madhuri Dixit's postures were midway between that of a ballerina and a temptress. But just when we thought such films were all but lost to mainstream Hindi cinema two recent films, Dance Like A Man and Morning Raga, are again trying to proud our classical heritage.
