'I'm quite comfortable with my sexy image'
Q. Will your 'sexy' image help you scale the bollywood charts?
Ans. I was just 17 when started out in showbiz with Pankaj Udhas' music video. I had a young, innocent face then. I feel that the audience still thinks of me as a kid and isn't ready to accept me as a 'sex bomb'-I'm quite okay with that. Though I've never consciously worked at developing a 'sexy' image, I'm comfortable with the tag.
Q. But doesn't this 'sexy' image cotradict your shy nature in real life?
Ans. Yes, I'm essentially very shy and reserved; I'm also unpredictible and moody-Ofcourse, not everybody knows this side of me. I'd describe myself as a person who takes each day as a new journey. That's why I enjoy films.
Q. Do you agreed with the view that only Shah Rukh and sex sell in Bollywood?
Ans. This statement has proved to be true. Today's cinema is quite explict about sex. All those actresses with a holier-than-thou attitude, Who insisted they'd never expose, are shedding their cloths now. At the same time, I don't believe that only sex can help a film sell-that's too shallow a way of thinking. As for myself, I set my own limits and I know where to draw the line.
Q. What kind of roles do you have in upcoming movies
Ans. There's a film opposite Anil Kapoor in which I play an extremely mysterious woman. In another movie, which has Ajay Devgan as my co-star, I'd say that I have a challenging role.
