Q. Did you settle on the title Kis Kiski Kismat because you feel 'kisses' are lucky after Khwahish?
Ans. Maybe it is some sub-conscious thing, where I must be thinking about people smooching even in my sleep.
Q. How many kisses are there in Kis Kiski Kismat?
Ans. Well, there are three kisses in the title itself. And don't ask how many kisses, rather ask how long the kisses last. You have only short pecks in the Hindi cinema so far. You need to have those really long smooches that last one hour.
Q. Is true that Mallika romance both Dharmendra and his son in the movie?
Ans. I won't say whom she romances. But both father and son are involved in the scandal with her. Mallika says she used to sit in Dharmendra's lap during the shootings. That was to loosened him up or made him a little more 'uptight'.
Q. While some reports say Mallika and Rekha ate getting on like a house on fire on the sets of your next film, other. Still others say Rekha is tutoring Mallika as an actress...
Ans. They claim they do get along. As for Rekha tutoring Mallika, I don't know because I have not eaves-dropped on their conversations as yet. It's very tempting, but I haven't.
Q. What is your answer to critics who claim that you are merely cashing in on the sex angle and Mallika's popularilty?
Ans. If that is the case, then Karan Johar is cashing in on Shah Rukh's popularity. Hitchcock cashed in on Cary Grant's popularity and Billy Wilde cashed in on Marilyn Monroe's popularity. Am I am idiot not to?
Q. Another allegation is that you are jumping on the bandwagon since sexy films are doing well right now.
Ans. If sex was such a sell-out, then Boom should be the biggest hit of all time. Who the hell of all time. Who the hell does'nt like to see a sexy movie? Basic Instinct has just been revived in mumbai-for the sixth time! Somebody must be going and seeing it, right? As for being compared to the other sexy films, when did I ever say Kis Kiski Kismet is a sex film? I say it is a comedy, like Hungama.
Q. May be you project your films to have much more than there actually is?
Ans. That's true of all film-makers. Even Raj Kapoor projected his films like this. There was no reason for him to flash Mandakini's breast all over the place. He was way ahead of me. Zeenat Aman's thrice shrunk top in Satyam Shivam Shunaram-it's like five sizes too small for her. In that case, I'll say I have been completely inspired by Raj Kapoor. I just haven't got to the completely transparent saree yet. I've reached only 50 percent of what he was.
