Preity good show
If 2003 was Preity Zinta's year, the actress seems ready for a repeat performance this time around also. After all, with one of the biggest releases of the year starring her, what else could it be? The film in question in Yash Chopra's Veer-Zaara with Zinta playing one half of the title role Zaara and Shah Rukh Khan, her co-star from Dil Se and Kal Ho Na Ho essaying the role of Veer. "Working with Yashji has been a fantastic experience. He treats all his actors so well. Also, I am so excited about the film. The character is amazing and I would compare the film to an epic love story." Though this is her third film with SRK, Preity confesses herself to be always amazed by his energy levels. "He is never tired and is brilliant. To watch him in action is an experience in itself."
She terms it a "great honour" to be working with Yash Chopra since "he has been making films for so long now. Every day I would go to shoot for Veer Zaara with a big grin on my face since I thoroughly enjoyed it. He is a legend and I am thrilled to have worked with him."
Over the years even Preity seems to have adopted the policy of doing very few films at a time. And this she says is because she does not believe in doing "a handful of decent films at one time. I would rather to one good movie. For me ambition means being able to do good work and not stretch myself thin doing projects I do not believe in."
Infact, the actress says that she likes to work in projects that appeal to her and will make a difference. "I want a body of work that I can look back upon and feel proud of." And for those who are it comes to a movie, it is quite simple actually. "I believe in giving every character 100 percent. Your conviction and belief in what you are doing has to come across on the screen."
Preity might have come into her own as an actress quite some time ago but there are many who still continue to associate her with her bubbly image from the initial films. "There is much more to me than just being a happy-go-lucky person. People should see that." And don't her fans already know that?
