Smooth as Shahid...
Shahid Kapoor, hates his 'Prince-in-the-waiting' tag. "Good work is what counts," he declares.
Fair enough. At 22, Shahid's got a good track record: two releases, one hit (Ishq Vishk), one average grosser (Fida). "I'm not exactly trying to be number one in tinsel town. I am raw and my journey has just begun," he says. About the comparisons with Shah Rukh Khan, he's diplomatic: "Comparing me with Shah Rukh Khan is giving me more than my due."
He never puts work above family. So, when there's a festival at home, you'll seldom see him shooting: "I usually spend Holi, Diwali and Eid at home. Mom makes a great lunch on those days," he quips.
Professionally, he is happy the way his career is headed: "I'm working with the best names, from Karan Johar to Satish Kaushik. I am greedy for good work, and once you know what you want in life, things fall in place."
