Rush Hour for Ash?
Aishwarya Rai might have missed out romancing Mr Bond, but she is once again being beckoned by Hollywood. In a recent interview to a US TV channel, director Brett Ratner expressed his desire to cast Ash in his next film, Rush Hour 3.
Said Ratner to the interviewee: "I want you to tell me who the most beautiful actress in Bollywood is so that I can cast her as Chris Tucker's love interest." When Ash's name was mentioned, Ratner said: "That's the one. That's the girl I want. Next time she's in Los Angeles, I want you to introduce me to her." Rush Hour 3 is scheduled for release in August 2005.
A copy of the recorded interview was sent to Ash's Hollywood agent Simone, who says: "At the moment, there is nothing to talk about, because we have no script. Yes, we have got the recorded version of the interview and I have seen it personally. However, Ash must first read the script and like it, specially her character. Then there must be an official offer given by the producers. Finally, if the offer and dates work out with both parties arriving at an agreement, the producers will make a formal announcement to the media."
Meanwhile, Ash has completed a decade after being crowned Miss World. As a prelude to the occasion, Ash met Indian jawans at the Siachen glacier, "What an experience! I'm told I'm the first woman to go there. I realised there'so much to learn from our jawans at Siachen."
