Bipasha's loss is Ritu's gain?
Not many know that Bipasha Basu's role in Buddhadeb Das-gupta's film (which she walked out of because the moolah was too less) was first offered to Bengali actress and two-time National Award winner, Rituparna Sengupta. When we spoke to the actress, she said, "The role was offered to me. But the reason I didn't do it was that I had other professional commitments at the time. So my dates were clashing. I have worked with Buddhadeb before, and he is a wonderful filmmaker, no doubt!" Ask her if the loss was Bipasha's and she's quick to say, "I don't know. Everyone has their own reasons for doing or not doing things. People's priorties differ. But it's always a plesure working with Buddhadeb."
