Veer-Zaara's a big hit
To say that Yash Chopra's Veer-Zaara has emerged a big hit in the overseas territory would be an understatement. Going by the figures, the film has crossed the $ 1.75 million mark in 11 days in the US, overtaking the five-week total of Main Hoon Na and almost nearing the 11-week total of Kal Ho Naa Ho in the US. If this is not a mega-blockbuster, then what is?
Chopra's latest Bollywood blockbuster also continues its march at the UK box office. The love classic, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta, debuted on the British box office charts at number four, collecting the record breaking amount of 484,993 during its first weekend. Early reports reveal that the second weekend figures are equally impressive. The film has made a whopping 324.671 and remains in the top 10 list at number 6. This means Veer-Zaara has already become the 6th biggest Indian film of all times in the UK charts, grossing over a 1 million (US$ 1.8 million). Could it beat the all-time record? Let's wait and see!
