Amrita Arora - Sex symbol? Who, me?
Sex symbol? Not me. That's what the pretty damsel Amrita Arora has to say about herself. "I'm not comfortable being sexy. I don't personally think of myself as sexy. I have never perceived myself as a sex symbol. I always see myself as my mother's daughter, Malaika's kid sister and the girl-next-door. Being sexy for me is playing a character. That's it. I don't want to be the sexiest girl. I want to be the most successful girl." Amrita, unlike most of her competitors, is very honest about what she wants in life. "I tried stripping to become successful with Rakht. It happened at a time when everyone was turning sexy and shedding their clothes. Everyone felt, 'Hey, the best route to success is to strip.' But honestly, Natasha, my character in the film, was extremely wild. I had to literally get out of my skin to fulfil the demands of the character. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do justice to her."
In her personal life, however, she believes in being the way she is. "I want to work wiht the biggest banners in town. But I am not willing to undercut or get into the crab-in-the-basket situation where each is trying to pull the other down. I will show my desire to work with you; after that its up to you to decide whether or not you want me."
