No kissing for her!
Ask Shah Rukh's leading lady in Swades, Gayatri Joshi whether she will take up dare-bare roles to break her village school teacher image in her debut film, and she's quite clear about her options. We asked her what she would have done if there was a kissing scene in Swades. "In that case I would have spoken to the director and convinced him that the scene wasn't necessary, especially in a village," she laughs. "And it's too early to ask me this question. Give me some time to settle down. I am definitely not going to do out-and-out dare-bare scenes. I am quite happy with what I am doing. I will take up different roles, but not something like that. I am not afraid of being typecast!" Here's to one young lady who knows her mind. Now let's just hope she knows how to get her way!
