If you thought Vashu Bhagnani did things differently to promote his films, we have another 'V' in the film industry who is proving that he, too, can be a creative marketer. Vipul Shah, director-producer of Waqt, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, has tied up with a major card company and has created New Year cards from father to son and vice-versa. "Waqt is a film about a father and son relationship. It made sense to do something promotional for the film in the festive season," said Shah. "So we tied up with a card brand and decided to come out with festive cards. The ones from a father to a son have been signed by Amitabh Bachchan, and those from a son to a father have been autographed by Akshay Kumar." Well, this is a timely marketing strategy indeed! Let's hope the baap-betas of the world go for the greetings - courtesy Vipul Shah, and the Big B and Akshay, of course!
