Shahid's dil maange more
The failure of Fida does not bother Shahid Kapur anymore as he gears up for the release of Anant Mahadevan's Dil Maange More, which hits the screens today. About his role, he says, "I play Nikhil in the film, a regular, teenager who has certain notions about love which prove wrong as the film progress. He seems to be at wrong places at a wrong time. He gets into situations where people mistake him to be Casanova, which he's not really. The story is about all the funny situations he lands into even though his intentions are always good."
Talking about the three women, his co-stars, Ayesha Takia, Tulip Joshi and Soha Ali Khan, he is wooed by in the film, he says, "All my co-stars, though relatively new, were good. It was interesting working with them. When I worked with Soha Ali Khan, it didn't feel like it was her first film. She was so confident and knew exactly what she wanted."
Ask him about Fida not doing well, he says, "I don't judge a film by whether it's a hit or a flop. I always judge a film when the first copy comes and I know exactly what to expect of it. It's destiny that sometimes bad films turn out to be big hits at the box office and vice versa. I feel Fida was a well-made film. What went against it was the climax. People couldn't digest the way the film ended. Otherwise, I feel we all gave our best performances." Shahid, who chooses a roe according to his instinct, is full of praise for Dil Maange More's director Anant Mahadevan. "He lived up to my expectations."
Even while the infamous kiss controversy has rocked his personal life, his professional life seems to be going great guns. This cute actor has a couple of films lined up in the next year. In the pipeline are Milenge Milenge, Life Ho to Aisi and a Feroz Nadiawala film. "Before I sign a film, I have to be confident of what is being made and whether I can do justice to the role," says young star, who made his debut with Ishq Vishq. And when he is not busy with films, he is watching them. Or else, he spends time with his lady love, Kareena.
With Dil Maange More, let's hope Lady Lucky smiles on him again.
