Good ol' Englishmen!
With his own directorial baton being raised after a long, long time. Subhash Ghai is completely immersed in his soon-to-be-released, Kisna. And he stays as inspired by his subject as he was during the story stages. Ask him where he drew his inspiration from and he candidly confesses that it were a couple of British men, whom he met during his visits to the UK, over the last two decades, and their passion for India; that edged him to make this film. "We've heard a lot of stories about the hatred between the Indians and the British. But during my visits to the UK, I was fortunate to meet some British men who had spent a part of their lives serv-ing the British Raj in India. And contrary to what we've heard, they had amazing tales to tell about India. That's when I decided to make a movie around these stories." Well, let's hope that Kisna's Raj at the box office is a long one, too, and inspiration enough for more filmmakers to try their hands at period dramas.
