Getting serious With Salman!
The man behind at least a dozen David Dhawan comedies - the latest being Mujhse Shaadi Karogi Rumi Jaffery, is finally venturing out on his own and turning director himself. "The first comment that comes from people after hearing this news is, 'Oh, he's making another comedy'. But having written comedies all my life, I want to take a complete break from that genre for some time and focus on something serious," says Rumi. So was there a fall out with David that made him go independent? Rumi laughs, "Nothing of that sort! I have written 18 films for him and it's time I did something on my own." Even the star of his movie is going to be none other than Salman Khan, a favourite of David Dhawan. And he adds, matter-of-factly, that his will be a serious film with Khan and the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor in the lead. But, seriously...!
