Sibling rivalry, eh?
While Akshaye Khanna is now a master at the emoting biz, brother Rahul will soon be seen in his first out-and-out masala movie Vikram Bhatt's Elaan. Although Rahul has already proved his acting talent in offbeat films like Earth and Hollybood Bollywood, we wondered how he'd fare in a commercial potboiler. We decided to ask the man who perhaps knows best, and Vikram Bhatt didn't disappoint. When we enquired whether Rahul was as good as Akshaye, pat came the retort, "Do you mean Akshaye of now, or Akshaye of Himalay Putra? The answer to your question lies in my question", grinned the director, but added quickly, "Akshaye is now a very experienced actor. And there's no greater teacher than experience. I think Rahul, for his first commercial film, is outstanding". Coming from Vikram Bhatt, that's quite a compliment! Akshaye could be frowning at the homegrown competition already. But, knowing him, we're sure he's looking forward to it.
