Bhansali undeterred?
The next few months will see an unstoppable wave of Bollywood release, with a fabulous line-up of films from big and small banners. They are stocked up, in all shapes and sizes, and this season will have a showing of them all. So the shuffling around of release dates that is happening behind the secenes doesn't come as a surprise to us any more. Of course, we were a little surprised on hearing that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has pushed the release of Black back by a few weeks - he's not known to be the kind to be deterred by other releases. He quickly responds to that, "I am not fearful of other releases, and I'm not evading them either; every film-maker will release his films as planned. Ijust wasn't ready with mine. I thought a little more prepublicity and promotion could help. We needed more time for the promos to hit all sections of audiences. It was important the promos register with the public, and arouse that much-needed interest." Guess some just choose to turn a 'blind' eye to competitors around. Right, SLB!
