Akki's new chilling role
Akshay Kumar has done a variety of roles - played a good guy, a baddies, a comic role and of course, action-oriented ones. But at present he's excited about Satish Rajwade's film Akhand where he plays "a cold-hearted jailor during the Raj." According to him, "Had I not agreed to play it, they would have settled for a stereotype. The choice of playing two conventional heroes came my way but I picked the grey. I was fascinated by the role." Could that have to do with the applause that came his way with his bad-man act in Ajnabee? "Nah... it just feels wonderful to go back in time, pick pieces of that age and create a character."
