To hell and back
Fortunately, nothing drastic happened. What was important for me was not my survival of the accident. It was the survival of the 10-year-old boy riding with me. Frankly, while filming, it was almost like Murphy's Law was at work if something could go wrong... it did. The throttle got stuck and what was a simple take became a fantastic stunt shot. This boy and I were riding a motorcycle when the throttle got stuck. Since we were supposed to gently hit a few ramps and go down a few bridges and humps, what happened was that with every hump we gained four or five feet, so finally the motorbike was about 11-12 feet in the air. So when we did land, I had to control the bike with only 15 yards to spare and, with a lead-end wall ahead, I would have smashed into it. It would have have been much easier if I was alone, but I was very worriedd for the child. Fortunately, the boy didn't have a single scratch. Even a single injury on the boy and I wouldn't ever have forgiven myself, or the stunt master."
