Rekha turns Crooner
That the gorgeous and ageless Rekha has been roped in to do an 'item' song in Parineeta is a well known fact. But if you're expecting an Umrao Jaan from the lady, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Since the film is set in the 1960s in Kolkata, Rekha plays a crooner in one of the nightclubs that were so popular during that period, belting out a vintage number in a dignified manner. And, to make it more 'hep', this particular hautespot is actually called Moulin Rouge. Now you can't get any more 'in' than that, can you? But did you expect anything less from the diva?
