'I don't think I am hot'
Marriage and a child later, Kajol continues to be her bubbly and effervescent self. And like before she doesn't give a damn about latest fashion or styles. If told that she is hot, she refuses strongly.
"It is not an attempt to pull myself down or fish for praises. But I just don't see myself as this hot babe to hit town," says the bong beauty.
Weight 'n' watch
"I wanted to badly knock off that excess baggage," she says. And she did manage, as one can see the slim and svelte Kajol. "I used to watch my thin cousins and go green." But she didn't bother shedding that puppy fat while acting. "Burning calories requires time, patience and energy. While shuttling between studios I had time for none of those," she says. "Besides I was and still am a bit too lazy!" she smiles, and adds, "Black is my passport to looking thin. You'll never see me in any other colours. At best I may slip into a beige or brown but that's about it. I am almost indebted to black for making me look presentable," she laughs. Does she flirt with colours in a more forthcoming fashion? "It will be some time before I am raring to go," she says.
Hair horror
Her hair has come in for a lot of compliments. "I have gone in for a new haircut after a long time," she smiles, her soft brown eyes lighting up. "You think it suits me?" she asks running her fingers through her tresses. "I don't like fiddling with my hair. I just like it to be. The idea of sticking chemicals to my hair freaks me out totally!" As for colouring her hair go, she says, "The idea of using synthetic and chemical-based colours repulses me. Manish Malhotra tried convincing me for 48 hours to get some highlights done, but the ziddi me didn't budge. Poor Manish, I always have my way with him," she guffaws.
Purple prose
"I hate purple! Hope Nysa dislikes it too," wishes Kajol. She wore the colour in Hamesha and in DDLJ. "How can I forget the purple sari that Manish forced me into for Tujhe dekha toh... I'll never forgive him for that," she says.
Costume drama
She considers herself a costume designer's nightmare. "The problem is that I dislike costuming. The more natural and simple it is, the happier I am. I hate the makeup, hair and costume sessions."
